Barring last minute changes, Manchester United will announce the signing of Paul Pogba from Juventus, the former has announced.

The France international star midfielder has been at the centre of the biggest transfer deal this summer and although it is yet to be seen how much Juventus will be getting for releasing him, sources say it is more than £100 million; a deal which will overshadow Gareth Bale’s £85 million fee Real Madrid paid Tottenham Hotspurs to get him in 2013.

The statement by Manchester United reads:“Paul Pogba has been granted permission to have a medical in order to finalise his transfer from Juventus to Manchester United.”

And unless his medicals do not work out well, the former Manchester United upstart is expected to join the Red Devils in the coming days where he will teamup with Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho.

As at the time of filing this report, the Community Shield pre-season season opener between the Manchester club and Leicester City, last season’s EPL winner, was underway at the Wembley stadium with a one all scoreline.

Andres Lingard opened scoring for United in the first half while the introduction of Nigeria’s Ahmed Musa brought spark to the Blues, leading to the leveler by Jamie Vardy.

Meanwhile, during a recent interview, Rio Ferdinand, a former Manchester United teammate of Pogba’s revealed that the Frenchman told him to become the best in the world.

Ferdinand is however convinced that Pogba has the focus required to live up to the £100 million expectedto bring him back to Manchester United.“I speak to Paul. I know him,”Ferdinand commented.“For Paul it’s all about football. It’s not about money.”
