    Antonio Conte Stays Till 2021

are preparing to hand Antonio Conte a new long-term contract after this weekend's FA Cup final, drawing up a £9.6m-a-year deal to tie the Italian to Stamford Bridge until 2021.

The Mirror report that the deal, which would see Conte make £40m over its four-year length, will make the 47-year-old the best-paid manager in the club's long history, eclipsing the money gave to his predecessor Jose Mourinho.

The Blues boss will not sit down with the club in the immediate aftermath of Saturday's trip to Wembley, but will instead take a short break to recharge after a punishing season before coming back to have discussions with top executives at the club.

Inter have made a number of attempts to coax Conte back to Italy this summer, hoping that massive wages combined with the opportunity to go back to his homeland would attract him to the project being built at the San Siro.

Speaking this week though, Conte said: “We have to finish this season, but we’ve started to work for the next season. I think that [the club and I] have the same point of view.

“For sure, we’ll try to improve our squad for next season because we have to face an important competition in the Champions League. But I think the club and me, we have the same point of view on this.

“I know very well that, in modern football, it is very difficult to stay a long time at the same club. But for sure if you have the opportunity to work for many years, you can improve your work. For a coach, that’s the best solution: to stay for a long time in the same club and build, with the club, something important.”
