Too Bad! Fuel Scarcity Paralyzes Commercial Activities In Ondo State

The lingering scarcity of petroleum products across the country worsened on Tuesday in Ondo State, as business and commercial activities were paralyzed in the Sunshine State.
Already, the people in the state had suffered hardship in the past few weeks as a result of persistent fuel scarcity.
The people had paid over N200 for a litre of petrol amidst long hours spent on queues at filing stations in the state.
Our correspondent, who monitored the situation in Akure, Owo, Ondo and Idanre gathered that most petrol stations who have the fuel now between N170 to N200.
It was also observed that of the over 50 fuel stations in Akure, only four dispensed the commodity to consumers amidst long queues.
The development however, has caused untold hardship to motorists and other users. Most workers whose houses are not far to their office trekked to work as only few taxis are on the road.
Findings showed that fuel dealers had stock but sell at night to maximize profit, while few petrol stations who dispensed collect N100 on 10litres of petrol and above.
A taxi driver, Bode Adewumi, who spoke with our correspondent urged the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) under President Muhammadu Buhari to solve the fuel crisis.
Adewumi also urged fuel dealers in the state not to hoard the fuel again in order to reduce the untold hardship people are facing.
Also speaking, a business woman around popular Adegbola junction, Mrs. Rashidat Omowole, appealed to the Federal and Ondo State governments to find a lasting solution to these issue of fuel scarcity during yuletide.
