Edo community petitions Oba of Benin over banned CDA

BENIN-CITY—LEADERS of Uselu N’Ahor in Uhunmwonde local government area of Edo state yesterday raised alarm over the continuous activities of members of banned Community Development Association (CDA) saying that    they have continued to operate in defiance of the law abolishing them.

A statement signed by the Enogie (Duke) of the community HRH Osaro Omoregie, Odionwere, Pa Igbinogun Samuel,   Secretary of the Community, Eduwu Uwoghiren and a member of the community, Moses Uwoghiren said the community is under siege by a man they identified as Akpan who they said is currently facing criminal charges in court but was still terrorising the community.

“Uselu N’ Ahor is a dukedom and has an extant duke.   Be it noted that up on till now,   there is no peace in Uselu N’Ahor as a result of the atrocious deeds” of the said Akpan.

The statement said the unsuspecting members of the public should not be deceived into entering into land deals with members of the disbanded CDA.
