By Peter Okutu, Abakaliki

GOVERNOR David Umahi of Ebonyi State yesterday warned the leadership of the All Progressive Congress, APC not to come close to the Abakaliki Township Stadium for their rally as the state government has not given any approval for the usage of the Stadium on Saturday.

The Governor stated this immediately after the State’s Security Council meeting at the government house, Abakaliki.

According to the Governor,  members of the State”s Neighborhood Watch were already using the Stadium for a two day training in the State and as such cannot be interrupted.

He warned the factional state chairman of APC, Pastor Eze Nwachukwu, Chief Igwe Edeze and China Nwoba to desist from making inflammatory statements capable of causing or instigating violence in the state stressing that any leader of APC whose action leads to the death of anyone would pay the price for such action.

His words: “They should not use their mouth to ignite crisis and violence in the state. In their meetings and social media, Chika has been boasting that they are going to override the stadium tomorrow.

“But if they are man enough, let them come near the stadium tomorrow; then they will understand who is the owner of the place. And on a more serious note, politics is not all about falsehood and using your mouth to instigate violence upon the people.

“I have never castigated Mr President or any of their people. So, I will not entertain them coming here; riding on a good road and drinking good water and then go to our stadium to begin to castigate me because they may be attacked by Ebonyi people who are very happy with what we are doing for them.”
